Hello. my name is Jen. i am the square root of evil. The square root of evil is not any more evil than you are, btw. I make music on my computer. sometimes i use controllers too. Now that i have my midi cable to sync things up you may even see my gameboy. my music has been described as quirky, breakcore, 8 bit, glitch, and more. i just like to make semi-fast songs with dumb melodies. hopefully you will enjoy them. either way, feel free to contact me via

April 24, 2006 - mmmm sunshine……

Woooooo! The show at the Lotus went really good, thanks to everyone who came out and cheered and stuff. I was very nervous, but it seemed to go over well, and I got some people dancing – especially toward the end when it was more dance friendly. 😉 I played almost every track I have- including a brand spanking new one! Props to DJ Vernon and Honeydoo at Deepen for having people like me come in and play- don’t miss the next Soundsaround on June 17!

I have another show coming up this Sunday the 30th- it’s at the Alibi Room and it’s a bi-weekly event called “Outlet”. I’m stoked that they are doing this on a regular basis- should be very fun, they have good food there too. 🙂

April 17, 2006 - next up….

(please imagine me taking calming breaths during this as I’m super nervous) My next show is this coming Saturday the 22nd at The Lotus. Deepen (the long running and mega popular house night) is starting a monthly where they have someone of a more experimental nature come in and play an hour long set earlier in the evening (10:30-11:30). The first person to do this is me. This Saturday. If you have seen me before- expect to hear many things you have not heard, as I will be playing some tracks that have never before been played live. If you have not seen me before, expect a wide range of music that will have many drums, weird melodies, video game sounds and beats that will range from 120-185 bpm. I plan to make people dance.

The show at SOMA went really well- I did mildly mellow it out, and people seemed to really enjoy it. Saw tons of old friends too, which was cool. 🙂 I also really enjoyed the other acts- Robot Army started it out with some solid beats and ethereal moods, Anomalous Disturbances is always lovely with his guitar and mulitude of effects, and FlatGrey was amazing (again) with his mastery of patch manipulation and his violin. Emma (of Coingutter) & Julie (from Video-In) did some really cool stuff with their AV set, and the visuals all though the night care of Tusk were wicked too. I’m always floored by the amount of talent in this big little city of mine.
